Mali: Goïta Inaugurates Center for Children of Soldiers Fallen for the Nation

General Assimi Goïta inaugurated on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Bamako the Maison des Pupilles, a facility to support children of military and state agents who died in service. This achievement fulfills a commitment made in 2021 to allocate two-thirds of his sovereignty fund to social actions. The project, requested on October 31, 2023, by the director of ONAPUMA, had its cornerstone laid on February 6, 2024. ONAPUMA supports nearly 1,878 children with full health and education coverage, including further studies in Morocco, Algeria, and Russia.
