Mali: ICC orders reparations for atrocities in Timbuktu

The International Criminal Court ordered Al Hassan Ag Abdoul Aziz Ag Mohamed Ag Mahmoud to pay 7.2 million euros in reparations for atrocities committed in Timbuktu. Found guilty of torture and religious persecution, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The reparations will be paid by the Trust Fund for Victims, as Al Hassan was declared indigent.

Trader charged over use of fake invoices

Peterson Maina Waruhiu, director of Urotide Investment Limited, has been charged with tax fraud at the Milimani Law Courts for using fake invoices. Algeria: Another former FAF president placed in detention!

Djahid Zefizef, former president of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) from July 2022 to July 2023, has been placed in detention by Algerian authorities on suspicion of corruption related to his previous role at the state-owned company Frigomedit. He joins Kheireddine Zetchi and Charaf Eddine Amara, who are also incarcerated for corruption-related cases. Zefizef had been banned from leaving the country since 2023.
