Mali: jihadists announce a blockade around Bamako

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for JNIM, Bina Diarra, announced the establishment of a blockade on all roads leading to Bamako, prohibiting entry into the capital until further notice. People wishing to leave Bamako are allowed to do so, but anyone who violates the blockade will face consequences. Some analysts believe these attacks are a diversion to seize Kidal, an independence stronghold in the northern part of the country.
