Mali: Six Burkinabe refugees killed in road accident

At least six Burkinabe refugees were killed and 84 others injured when a truck carrying freight and passengers overturned Tuesday in central Mali between Mdandoly and Songobia in the Bandiagara region. The UNHCR stated the passengers were mostly Burkinabe refugees with refugee certificates, likely traveling to Ouahigouya in Burkina Faso. The toll may rise as 36 of the injured are in critical condition. The Bandiagara region hosts over 70,000 Burkinabe refugees, most arriving in 2025.
