Mali: Use of Certain Motorcycles Banned Outside Major Cities

Mali's military rulers have banned the use of motorcycles with engine capacity of 125cc or more outside major cities via a government decree, as part of efforts to combat a jihadist insurgency, since such motorcycles are the preferred transport for jihadist groups. Exceptions are made for Bamako, regional capitals, and some urban areas. The decree also suspends the import, transit, sale, and free distribution of these motorcycles nationwide.
