Man City beat Brighton on penalties after dramatic League Cup comeback

Manchester City advanced to the League Cup quarterfinals by beating Brighton 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at home. City came from behind twice, with Mateo Kovacic and Vitor Reis scoring the equalizers, the latter deflecting in a Rayan Cherki free kick. Backup goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli saved spot kicks from Yasin Ayari and Lewis Dunk after Jason Steele had stopped Kovacic’s penalty. The teams meet again in the Premier League at the Etihad on Saturday.
