Man City beaten at Aston Villa as perfect Premier League start ends

Manchester City suffered its first Premier League defeat of the season, losing 2-1 at Aston Villa. Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring in the sixth minute and struck the winner on the hour after Erling Haaland had equalised early in the second half. Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki made a series of important saves to protect his side’s lead. The result ended Enzo Maresca’s run of seven straight wins to start his tenure and extended City’s losing streak at Villa Park to four consecutive seasons.
