'Man of big ideas' - Tinubu mourns elder statesman, Bamanga Tukur

President Bola Tinubu expressed sadness over the death of Bamanga Tukur, elder statesman and former governor of the old Gongola State, at the age of 90. Born on September 15, 1935, Tukur was a key figure in public administration and the private sector, notably serving as General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority and as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. Tinubu praised his contributions to democracy and commitment to Africa's economic development.
