Man Utd crisis deepens as Carrick faces axe

Manchester United are winless in eight games and sit just above the relegation zone after a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. Michael Carrick, appointed in May after guiding the club to third place and a return to the Champions League, is increasingly at risk of losing his job. Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe and ex-Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann are reportedly among the potential replacements. Gary Neville says the club’s problems extend beyond the manager, as the Glazers retain majority ownership and United’s debt has climbed above £1.1 billion despite Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures.
