In Mankono, in the Béré region, teachers belonging to the education-sector inter-union group have decided to observe a 48-hour work stoppage. The decision was made on November 2, 2026, at an extraordinary general meeting at Lycée Moderne de Mankono, followed by a gathering outside the prefecture and the reading of a protest motion. They are protesting the beating of Konan Yannick Boris, a history-geography and French teacher, who was attacked on October 29 at around 8 a.m. while shopping at a supermarket with his wife. The unions are urging authorities to ensure teachers’ safety.
