Maritime Freight: Abidjan-Douala Cost Soars by 95% in 2025, Surpassing Antwerp and Le Havre

The average cost of shipping a 20-foot dry container from Abidjan to Douala increased by 95% in 2025, reaching 1.328 million FCFA, up from 682,000 FCFA in 2024. As a result, Abidjan has become more expensive than Antwerp and Le Havre for shipping containers to Douala. Meanwhile, costs from Antwerp and Le Havre have decreased to 1.146 million and 1.312 million FCFA, respectively.
