Marquez wins Malaysian Grand Prix to close in on retaining championship

Marc Marquez won the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang, his first victory since 2018, and now has 399 points in the MotoGP championship. The Ducati rider leads Jorge Martin by 44 points, with Martin absent after fracturing his wrist. Pedro Acosta finished second, while pole-sitter Alex Marquez took third. Marc Marquez could secure an eighth title at next week’s Qatar Grand Prix if he extends his lead to 74 points, with two rounds still remaining.
