Mary Habila's death: Umahi's team of lawyers petition police, insist on autopsy

The Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, through his team of lawyers, has petitioned the Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police to demand an autopsy on the body of Mary Habila before burial. Habila, a staff member of the David Umahi Federal University of Medical Sciences in Uburu, died on June 27, 2026 in a staff residential building within Umahi's residence in Uburu. The lawyers request that a comprehensive autopsy be conducted by qualified forensic pathologists and that the body not be released to the family until investigations are complete.
