Clashes resumed on Friday, November 6, in Mahanga, in the Nyamaboko 1 groupement of Masisi territory in North Kivu, between the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) rebels and the Congolese army (FARDC), supported by wazalendo fighters. Heavy and light gunfire was heard at around 3 p.m., according to ACTUALITE.CD sources. The rebels reportedly attacked government positions to retake Mahanga, which the FARDC and their allies had taken control of on Wednesday. The renewed fighting may be linked to FRN reinforcements of fighters and ammunition from Nyabiondo, reported in Kasopo that morning.
