The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) plans to upgrade 17.8 kilometers of roads in Meru County, funded by the World Bank through the Horn Africa Gateway Development Project. Six roads will be tarmacked, including Runogone-Kaithe, KEMU-Kambakia, and others, with two footbridges to be built at Kaaga Boys High School and Meru National Polytechnic. The construction is expected to take 28 months, with an additional 12 months for maintenance, potentially causing significant displacement in the area.
