Mbalmayo: a 23-year-old mother was stabbed to death after announcing her breakup

Maeva Ateba Mandak, a 23-year-old mother of a five-year-old child, was allegedly fatally stabbed by her partner in Mbalmayo, Nyong-et-So’o. She reportedly announced her intention to break up, which led to a violent argument during which the man, nicknamed « Dimaria », used a knife to attack her. He then took her to the hospital claiming she had a motorcycle accident, but medical staff suspected otherwise after examining her body. The suspect later admitted to the crime at the gendarmerie and sought protection, having recently been released from prison, a detail that could not be verified.
