Mbao: Aesthetician and Her Assistant Arrested for Illegal Medical Practice

In Mbao, aesthetician Naya C and her assistant were arrested by the Keur-Massar research brigade for illegally practicing medicine and endangering lives. A client, Kh. Diouf, paid 500,000 FCFA after seeing a TikTok ad for laser treatment to reduce fat under her chin, and later developed severe inflammation. During the raid, another patient was found about to undergo a similar procedure. Naya C claimed she had an aesthetician diploma from a training in China and opened her clinic without authorization, hiring a community health worker as an assistant.
