Greece bans social media use for children under 15

Greece’s parliament passed a law barring children under 15 from using social media starting January 1, 2027. Aviation and Aerospace Development Minister Festus Keyamo accused former vice-president Atiku Abubakar of being worried about the APC’s support in northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In a statement about the APC campaign launch in Kaduna, Keyamo alleged that videos showing the removal of Bola Tinubu campaign posters were staged and that a purported letter citing N2.3 trillion for the rally was fake, but provided no evidence. He argued that Atiku’s strategy relies on northern votes and that he would also need significant gains in the Middle Belt and southern states to win. Keyamo compared Atiku with former president Muhammadu Buhari and made corruption-related allegations that were not supported by evidence in the statement.

APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru urged former speakers of state assemblies to mobilise support for Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and promote the administration’s economic reforms. Speaking at a gathering organised by their association in Kaduna State, he cited the removal of the petrol subsidy and a more market-driven foreign exchange regime, saying the measures had strengthened state finances and helped governments meet salary and pension obligations. Basiru called for clearer explanations of the reforms to voters and challenged former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s economic proposals, raising questions about past privatisations. He urged the former lawmakers to engage communities and encourage voters to assess candidates by their records, policies and performance.
