Mediators Continue US-Iran Negotiations Amid War Rhetoric

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iranian officials are discussing a two-day plan with Qatari mediators to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restart peace talks with Washington. An Iranian delegation travelled to Doha, while Qatari officials have also consulted in Tehran; the plan depends on the United States meeting Iran’s demands. Donald Trump says negotiations are going fine but says the US still has Iranian targets to “take care of.” Araghchi and Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei warn that Iran is prepared for renewed war and could respond with new weaponry.
