Mediterranean Games 2026: Morocco defeats Italy to win bronze medal

Less than 48 hours after their semi-final defeat, Morocco U20 secured the bronze medal at the 2026 Mediterranean Games by defeating Italy 4-1. Mohamed Mounssef opened the scoring in the 9th minute, followed by goals from Abdelali Eddaoudi and Karim Essaadi. Anass Benomare sealed the victory in the 75th minute, despite a goal from Gioele Giammattei for Italy. Morocco is now preparing for the U20 AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
