The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is raising annual grants to its 54 member associations by 33%, bringing each association’s funding to $700,000 from $525,000. The six zonal unions, including Cosafa, will receive a 20% increase, from $750,000 to $900,000 a year. Since Patrice Motsepe became CAF president in 2021, annual grants to member associations have risen by 250%. CAF is also increasing funding for the African Clubs Association by 25% to $500,000, with the broader support intended to strengthen football development, youth and women’s football, administration and governance.
