Met should probe handling of 'Putney Pusher' suspect death, says IOPC

The UK police watchdog has called for the Metropolitan Police's professional standards unit to investigate how they handled a case involving a man suspected of pushing a woman into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge, who was found dead at his home on September 15. Nicholas Brandram, 44, was under suspicion of being the jogger involved in the 2017 incident, but his family stated he took his own life due to the immense pressure of the investigation. The IOPC advised that the review consider the necessity and proportionality of the arrest, media engagement, and Mr. Brandram's welfare.
