Meta to take legal action against Israeli spyware company NSO

Meta has said it is filing a US federal court contempt order against Israeli spyware firm NSO Group for violating a permanent injunction that barred it from targeting WhatsApp. The company said its WhatsApp service disrupted new spear phishing attempts linked to NSO, similar to previous "1-click phishing campaigns". Meta also took down test accounts and groups created by NSO. Twelve civil rights organisations filed amicus briefs to support the injunction.
