Starting May 1, 2026, driving licenses will be immediately suspended for any driver caught using their phone while driving in Pas-de-Calais, Lot-et-Garonne, Landes, and Charente-Maritime. This measure, based on prefectural orders, allows for administrative suspension without judicial decision, with penalties of up to six months of license withdrawal and a fine of 200 euros.
