Ebola epidemic recedes in Ituri, Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe calls for increased funding

The Ebola virus epidemic is showing signs of receding in Ituri, according to Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe, director of INRB. He noted improvements in epidemiological indicators due to better community adherence and early case detection. Despite these advancements, he calls for continued vigilance, especially in the neighboring North Kivu province, and for increased funding to support health operations and epidemiological surveillance.
