Migrant boat capsizes in Mediterranean

A boat carrying dozens of migrants capsized Sunday in the central Mediterranean, about 45 nautical miles southeast of Malta. It had left the Libyan coast with about 60 passengers. A fishing boat rescued 48 people. The Italian coast guard joined rescue operations at the request of Maltese authorities.
