The Central African Republic has agreed to receive migrants from other countries who are expelled from the United States. US and Central African officials discussed the matter in Bangui on May 18 and concluded an agreement. However, on May 22, a US federal judge blocked the deportation of a Turkish national to Bangui. The date of the first migrant flights is not yet known. The CAR is led by Faustin-Archange Touadera, re-elected in January, and the country is often plagued by political violence.
