Miners' death: Niger NSCDC gets new commandant

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has appointed Abdulhamid Kabara as the new commandant for Niger State following the deaths of 37 suspected illegal miners in custody. Kabara replaces Suberu Aniviye, who was suspended after the tragic incident in Minna. In a statement, he expressed deep sadness over the loss of lives and emphasized the importance of protecting human life while continuing the corps' responsibilities, including the fight against illegal mining.
