Ministerial post: Behind the scenes of Dr Babacar Diop's refusal to Bassirou Diomaye Faye

The mayor of Thiès, Dr Babacar Diop, refused to join the new government led by Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Amine Mohamed Lô. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye had offered him the portfolio of Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. According to journalist Cheikh Yérim Seck, Dr Diop chose to continue his municipal projects in Thiès. The position was ultimately given to Boubacar Camara.
