Mipad 2026: an international award for Minister Louis Watum for his commitment to the mining sector

Louis Watum Kabamba, Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo, was honored in 2026 by MIPAD as one of the 50 most influential people of African descent in the solid minerals sector. The recognition celebrates his over thirty years of involvement in the mining industry and industrial development in Africa, first as an engineer and leader, then as a public official. He emphasizes that this award should inspire transforming mineral resources into sustainable prosperity for the DRC, in line with President Félix Tshisekedi's vision.
