Missing $12.4 Billion: ADC Asks Tinubu to Explain Nigeria’s Unaccounted Funds

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to explain a $12.4 billion discrepancy identified by the World Bank in Nigeria’s external accounts. The World Bank’s October 2026 report recorded a $12 billion current-account surplus and $6.2 billion in net financial inflows in the first half of the year, while pointing partly to oil export earnings that were not repatriated. It also wants updated net reserve figures and evidence that higher revenues are improving healthcare and education.
