Mixed day in several DRC cities after call for 'ghost town' day

On Wednesday June 3, 2026, Kinshasa experienced a mixed day after the opposition called for a 'ghost town' to protest any constitutional change. Some streets were empty, others active; shops closed, traffic light. In the provinces, the situation varied: normal in Kikwit and Kananga, divided in Kenge, initially timid then normalized in Mbandaka.
