Gambia: $2.5 million repatriated from the USA to compensate victims of Jammeh

Gambia and the United States signed an agreement for the repatriation of $2.5 million intended for the compensation fund for victims of former president Yahya Jammeh. The funds come from the sale of a residence in Potomac, Maryland, identified as a product of corruption. The agreement was signed on September 18 in Banjul by Finance Minister Seedy Keita and U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Robert Anderson. This amount will support the compensation mechanism established for victims of human rights violations under Jammeh's regime.
