Mobile Money: Account Limit Increased to 4 Million FCFA (BCEAO)

Starting November 2, 2026, the electronic money holding limit in the UMOA will increase from 2 to 4 million FCFA, according to an instruction from BCEAO dated October 8, 2026. The monthly recharge limit will also rise from 10 to 15 million FCFA, a 50% increase. Multiple accounts with the same institution will be combined to ensure compliance with the limit, unless prior authorization is granted by BCEAO. These changes aim to provide greater flexibility for Mobile Money users, including merchants, entrepreneurs, and individuals.
