Momo Cissé Fined 300,000 CFA Francs for Spreading False News About Nourah Ba

Commentator Mamadou “Momo” Cissé was found guilty of spreading false news by Dakar’s flagrante delicto court and fined 300,000 CFA francs, in line with the prosecution’s request. He denied the allegations, saying he had relayed information from third parties about the arrest of influencer Mariama Ba, known as Nourah Ba, and her treatment in custody at the Special Cybersecurity Division. He also said he had worked in journalism for 12 years despite not completing his journalism training and had begun the process of obtaining a press card.
