Mongala prisons deprived of operating funds for 15 months, denounces NGO AJBS

NGO AJBS has reported that the Mongala prisons have not received operational funds for about fifteen months, severely impacting inmate care, including food and healthcare. Coordinator Marceline Mbanze stated that this disruption has led to serious consequences, including the death of some prisoners, and hampers the functioning of the detention facilities. The organization calls for urgent intervention from the Minister of Justice and notes that payment orders have already been sent by the Ministry of Finance to release the funds.
