MONUSCO condemns deadly attacks against civilians in Ituri, North and South Kivu

MONUSCO condemned a recent wave of deadly attacks against civilians in the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu, reporting dozens of civilians killed. These acts of violence exacerbate the security climate and increase the vulnerability of communities already suffering from years of conflict. The Mission also expressed concern over airstrikes that occurred on May 8, resulting in civilian casualties. It urges all armed actors to respect international law and immediately cease attacks against civilians.
