More than 100 foreign trekkers are stranded in central Nepal after flash floods in Gorkha district washed away bridges, hiking trails, and hundreds of homes. Rescue teams evacuated 321 people, including 12 foreigners, and will continue operations. The floods resulted from a landslide that blocked the Budhi Gandaki River, a tributary of the Trishuli, following a glacier collapse in August that caused a catastrophic flood killing 1,457 people. No deaths have been reported in this flood, but five villagers remain out of contact after debris and sludge destroyed over 200 homes.
