More than 70,600 displaced people and returnees are living in precarious conditions with host families in several localities of Bwito chiefdom, in Rutshuru territory, North Kivu. The local Population Movement Commission and the NGO SOCOLUTTE say the families have received little or no humanitarian assistance for several months after fleeing clashes. SOCOLUTTE is calling for urgent support for displaced people, returnees and vulnerable host communities. The organization also reports that children are suffering from malnutrition and have lost access to education.
