More than 80 reported abducted in Nigeria as police find human remains

More than 80 people have been reported missing in Nigeria after being abducted by armed gangs, according to a media report. Police in Abia announced the discovery of 28 human skulls and bones suspected to belong to kidnapping victims. Separately, at least 47 farmers were abducted in Niger State and 40 women in Zamfara by criminal groups known as 'bandits' involved in ransom kidnappings and cattle rustling. Mass abductions for ransom have become frequent in northwestern and north-central Nigeria.
