Moroccans Remain Spain’s Biggest Foreign-Born Community but Lowest in Higher Education

Spain's National Statistics Institute reports that Moroccans are the largest foreign-born community in Spain, with 1,165,955 Moroccan-born residents as of January 1, 2025. However, only one in ten Moroccans has attained higher education, compared to 42.7% of the Spanish population aged 25 to 64. In 2024, 136,417 Moroccans arrived in Spain, with the majority having immigrated during the 2001-2010 period.
