Morocco: Authenticity and Modernity Party Wins Legislative Elections

In Morocco, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), part of the ruling coalition, won the legislative elections held on September 23, with 97 seats according to provisional results. The National Rally of Independents (RNI) secured 66 seats, Istiqlal 65 seats, and the Justice and Development Party (PJD) 54 seats. PAM will need to form a coalition but is already guaranteed to appoint the Prime Minister, as per the Moroccan Constitution. Voter turnout was 38%, the lowest in nearly two decades, amid social discontent.
