Morocco: Ouahbi set to lose key player for next two AFCON 2027 qualifiers

Azzedine Ounahi is expected to miss Morocco’s two matches against Niger, scheduled for November 13 in Casablanca and November 17 in Rabat in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. The 26-year-old midfielder was carried off during a Greek league match on Sunday and has a third-degree tear of his right biceps femoris. Sources close to Panathinaikos estimate he will be sidelined for two and a half to three months, although the club has not made an official announcement. Ounahi, who has 58 caps and 12 goals, provided an assist against Lesotho during Morocco’s most recent international camp.
