Morocco: PAM wins legislative elections with low turnout

The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), part of the current Moroccan government coalition, led the legislative elections with 97 out of 395 seats. Voter turnout was only 38.1%, the lowest in nearly twenty years, indicating widespread disillusionment with politics amid concerns over unemployment and inequality. The National Rally of Independents (RNI) secured 66 seats, and the Istiqlal Party won 65. The opposition Justice and Development Party (PJD) quadrupled its seats to 54, amid tensions following the Ceuta migration crisis.
