Mother and Health Facility Owner Arrested over Alleged Sale of Baby for N2 Million in Oyo

Oyo State Police rescued a one-month-old girl allegedly sold for N2 million and arrested two suspects, including her mother, Cecilia, and Adeleke, owner of the health facility where the baby was born. The case was reported on October 15 by the girl’s grandmother, Mary Amos, after the child disappeared in Ido, in the Ibadan area. Police said Cecilia alleged that two people drew her into the arrangement and facilitated the sale to a woman identified as Odunayo; Cecilia reportedly received N1 million, while the other two suspects received N500,000 each. Investigators are continuing efforts to arrest Folawewo and others allegedly involved in the trafficking.
