MPs Fault KPLC Over Slow Last-Mile Electricity Project as Only 9% Is Completed

Members of the Kenyan National Assembly raised concerns over the slow progress of the last-mile electricity connection program, which is only 9% completed. Committee chair David Gikaria pointed out a discrepancy between official statistics and the reality on the ground, where connectivity is significantly below 70%. KPLC attributed the delays to funding disruptions, but lawmakers dismissed this excuse, stating that the profitable company should utilize its own resources.
