MPs Push for Termination & Blacklisting of Contractors Delaying Ksh 45.5B Water Projects

Kenyan MPs have directed the government to terminate and blacklist contractors responsible for delays in the Ksh45.5 billion water and sanitation program covering 58 towns. During a meeting with Principal Secretary Julius Korir, the parliamentary committee condemned persistent delays. Out of 61 projects, 12 are completed, 26 awaiting commissioning, 22 under construction, and one stalled due to litigation. Korir confirmed contract terminations in Mandera and Meru and initiation of new procurement processes.
