MRC Convention: Exiled Journalist Michel Ngatchou Suspects a Secret Deal with the CPDM

The MRC held an extraordinary convention in Odza, Yaoundé, on October 17 to renew the party’s leadership. In a Facebook post, former Équinoxe TV journalist Michel Ngatchou alleged a possible rapprochement with the ruling CPDM and a deal involving positions in the 2027 local elections in return for a compliant opposition. He provided no documents or names of officials to support the allegation, which remains unsubstantiated. He also questioned the convention’s legitimacy, citing internal disputes, court proceedings, and claims by founding member Dr. Okala Ebodé.
