MRC Election: Despite Administrative Approval, Willy Mengue Attempts New Strategy to Cancel the Convention - Lebledparle

The Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC) received authorization on September 28 to hold an extraordinary convention on October 17, 2026, at Odza. Less than twenty-four hours later, Willy Mengue, an expelled member and legal challenger of his exclusion, petitioned the authorities to block the event, citing internal tensions and public order risks. The MRC leadership stated that the administrative decision remains valid and challenged Mengue's legal grounds. Several candidates, including Tiriane Balbine Noah, Pierre Emmanuel Binyam, and Bris Ronnic Djolako, are competing to succeed Maurice Kamto after his resignation.
