MSF: 1,046 migrants rescued in a week on the Canary route

In one week, 1,046 migrants were rescued on the maritime route between West Africa and the Canary Islands, according to Médecins sans frontières. The migrants, who departed from Gambia, were traveling on seven boats and were intercepted at the end of August. Survivors, including 134 women and 88 minors, were disembarked in Nouadhibou, Rosso, and Dakar, where MSF provided medical care and psychological support.
